The Ginger Press - Live Facebook Event, Owen Sound, ON

This live Facebook event captured the launch for the book, 20/20 Hindsight: Being Gay* in Bruce and Grey - a collection of stories edited by Joan Beecroft and written by LGBTQ2S+ elders living in Grey and Bruce Counties in Ontario, Canada. During this event, Ginger Press owner and publisher, Maryann Thomas speaks with Joan Beecroft about the book, and Kate sings a few songs to help them celebrate.

Affirming Leaders Day - online conference, Calgary, AB

Affirming Leaders Day is a faith-based development & connection day for allied and LGBTQ2S+ folks. All are welcome to join us online! You are invited to join us on Zoom for a day of illuminating and artistic speakers, on topics of faith, LGBTQ2S+ inclusion and more. Please note: the start time and end time for this conference is in Mountain Standard Time (Calgary, AB).

$10-20. Every ticket type gives you access to ALL of the sessions. Please download the Zoom app on your device, and we will send out the link and password before the conference.

Greetings from wintery Ontario!  

I hope this newsletter finds you all well in your lives. I sent out my last newsletter in July 2019 and since I have a few cool things to share, I thought it would be a good time to send out an update.  

I’ve been immersed in writing my PhD dissertation over the past few months and it’s such a marathon! I write for hours and hours each week, inching closer to the finish line. My aim is to finish writing late this spring and defend in June so please send me your well wishes…

Hi Everyone! 

How about that Super Moon, eh? That was pretty spectacular – I hope many of you got outside to witness that incredible event. I’ve been wrapping up my thesis  - all the “heavy-lifting” is done – now it’s just a few minor revisions and then I ship it off to my editor who will format it according to UBC standards and make it look like I actually have a good command of the English language.
